The bay of Palamos

Palamos, located about 20 km in southern direction from Pals and Begur, is a very pretty and typical catalan town at the middle Costa Brava (Baix Empordà ) that is less affected by tourism than by it's importance beeing one of the most important fishing harbors in the region. Every day you can watch the countless fishing boats setting off to come back at the late afternoon to offer their rich catch of sea food of the most varied kinds daily at 17pm at the public auction at the fish market. No wonder that it's still the local catalans, expecially from the near Barcelona, which represent the biggest group of tourists and are known as passionate gourmets who populate the restaurants of Palamos and it's souroundings which are famous for their excellent cuisine.
South of the center with it's numerous shops, restaurants, bars, harbor and fish
market, the 3 km long and on average more than 30 m wide sandy beach of the bay of Palamos is located, flanked by an elegant beach promenade (Paseo), which invites to casual stroll and with further numerous restaurants, small shops and cafes not least for an extensive stay.
The promenade runs along almost the whole bay at the southern end and extends up to San Antoni de Calonge, where at the "Passeig de Torre Valentina" the residential area, consisting of three separate houses, with our apartments is loacted.
The residential area with the two bigger apartment houses "Montseny" and "Canigo" is situated very quiet and set back in a private driveway directly at the promenade. It has it's own sports facilities with large community pool and tennis courts.
From the balconies of both houses you have a magnificent view of the sea, the beach and the bay of Palamos.
At the ground floor of the house "Canigo" our facility manager and the reception office of IDEAL COSTA BRAVA are located.
The smaller, two storey house "Valentina Playa" is situated even a bit nearer to the promenade and also offers a beautiful view of the sea, beach and the whole bay and has a little garden which adjoins directly to the beach.
Of course there are sufficient parking places directly at the residential area. And there's a big supermarket only 200 m away where you may get almost everything.
In the sourounding area all sports and recreational facilities are offered, for watersports not at least, the sport port of Palamos (marina with boat rental). Diversified day trips let you discover the numerous neighboring bays.
And who likes the nightlife will find countless possibilities at the about 3 km away center of Palamos and at the about 4 km southern town Playa de Aro with countless restaurants, nightclubs, discotheques etc.
